This paper presentation discusses how improving digital skills among teacher educators can make learning more hands-on and effective in Vietnam. The study was carried out in Da Nang with 30 teacher educators from both public and private universities. Data was gathered through interviews and a digital competence survey.

The research shows that many teacher educators face challenges like not having enough digital skills, limited support from their institutions, and a lack of strategies that work well in their local context. The study uses familiar models like HeDiCom, DigCompEdu, and TPACK to understand these issues better.

Early results reveal clear gaps in digital skills. Based on these findings, the presentation offers simple and practical recommendations for policymakers, universities, and educators to help them improve digital competence. This will, in turn, enhance experiential learning and better prepare future educators for the digital age.
